If you've never driven a jet ski before than I'd say this is probably worth doing if you're a speed/adrenaline junky. Otherwise, at nearly $250 per person per 45-min ride, I personally don't think it's worth it, but my girlfriend thought otherwise, so....

Bottom line -- the guides were very chill, friendly and thorough and he gave us our space once we got out. If you plan on ripping it up out there than you will most definitely get soaked so wearing a shirt isn't advisable and wearing board-shorts / bathing-suit is advisable.

Make sure to wear sunscreen if it's a sunny day as wearing a hat isn't a good idea (will def fly off your head).

We rented one of the 17 ft Boston Whalers and had a blast. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We'll definitely rent from MV Oceansports again!

Don’t waste your time on the banana boats. Three of us went and it was not fun. We did the parasailing last year and although overpriced, it was fun and worth it. Maybe the banana boats would be more fun if completely full or if the driver and first mate did a better job but they seemed disinterested - doubt they’ll be working there next year so they could care less. Would love a refund for spending as much as we did but I’m sure that won’t happen.

Rented a boat to take our family out on the water - we’ve rented boats at least half dozen times over the last couple of years.

They suggested we upgrade from the Whaler to the Sportsman due to the water being a “little choppy.” Once we got out of the harbor, we struggled with winds and pretty bad chop the whole way down to Edgartown and Chappy. The boat had ALMOST no railings to hold on to - not in the bow or the aft. There were cushions but nothing to hold on to except in the center of the boat. It turns out the winds were 15-25 kts and there was a small craft advisory (none of which we were told about). We had to keep our kids in the center bench so they could hold on to something while the adult passengers crouched down to keep from being bounced into the water. Tried to anchor and swim off the boat but current was strong, and there was no life preserver with a rope to ensure we could pull someone back in. It was one of the most stressful boating experiences - one we wish we would have simply been advised to reschedule to a safer day. Without railings or a rope to hold on to, we were basically untethered. We cut our time on the water by 1.5 hours and headed back because it wasn’t worth the risk.

We let them know upon our return, they said thank you for the feedback. Would definitely advise you do your own research and check the marine forecast before renting - especially in boats that are stripped down without basic railings to ensure safety. We had planned to go parasailing and tubing with MV Oceansports, but we won’t due to this experience.

Jesse, the boat captain was beyond exceptional. He made sure our time on the water was well spent. He showed us some great spots on the water that were beautiful. I didn't realize how much fun boating was. He was very knowledgeable and down to earth. I will definitely reccomend this company.

We rented boats for two separate days for our week-long stay at Martha's Vineyard. After making the reservations, we learned that we needed a smaller one delivered to our rental property in order to take advantage of a private beach. Britney and Liam were fantastic folks from MVY Oceansports to work and they helped us get in touch with the owner, Mark. Mark was super-accommodating and let us switch up the reservation, and he delivered the boat to us. The boats themselves were in great shape and we enjoyed both going on the ocean in a Boston Whaler and going on the pond to the get to the beach. MVY Oceansports has great owners, employees, and customer service. I highly recommend them for anyone interested in going out on the water at Martha's Vineyard!!

Reserved a parasailing spot this past weekend, but did not actually sail. The staff was pleasant to deal with and seemed experienced, but staff allowed us to take off our masks when we got on the boat and then put on neck gaiters only after it was clear that we weren’t taking off our masks. These seemed like poor disease control measures for a company where the staff need to get up close to fit harnesses in many customers. It was good that they were taking parties out one at a time instead of crowding a bunch of people, though.

We got fitted with a harness, but decided to call off the parasailing because I didn’t want to risk another close contact. My girlfriend was fully refunded for the trip, which was generous of MV Oceansports. I would be willing to go back and try again after the pandemic is over.
