Stopped in here for dinner one evening. It was very busy so I'd recommend reserving at the weekend. Food was great and quick to come out piping hot! I had the cheese and onion pie. Good vegetarian/vegan options on own menu. Dog friendly and good choice of drinks and local ales.

We stayed for only 1 night a few weeks ago. The welcome is warm, staff are friendly. ||The evening meal was delicious, generous portions and a very fair price. Highly recommend the lamb Henry and crumble. ||The rooms are ok, but basic and tired but the bed was comfy and clean. Overall I would stay again.

We were spending a few days in Eskdale and a local friend suggested an evening meal at the Boot. |The bar staff were welcoming and there was a decent choice of beers, which were well-kept.|Two of us ordered sirloin steaks on the bone from the specials menu; I am generally wary of ordering steaks in pubs due to a number of negative experiences but these were of excellent quality, cooked just as we ordered and beautifully presented, with homemade chips, roasted vine tomatoes and a pot of peppercorn sauce on the side. |My wife tried the cheese & onion pie, which she pronounced excellent.|We chose a very reasonably priced bottle of Rioja, which proved the perfect accompaniment to all of our meals.|service was prompt and cheerful. |I am very pleased to give the Boot Inn five stars.

We were staying in Boot and ate at the pub 4 nights. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Good choice on the main menu, with a specials board every night too. Highly recommend the lamb Henry, fish and chips, beef rib, roast sirloin of beef and the chicken curry. Food quality and quantity very good. There is also a good range of beers including local beers. Dogs welcome. The pub does get very busy and sometimes a little wait for food but always worth it. Recommend booking a table in advance to ensure you get food. Good friendly atmosphere,

We had a lovely stay over the August bank holiday weekend with the family. The staff were very friendly & professional but the stand out attributes to this place was the food, it was superb. Fish & chips were the best we've had.....EVER !

The rooms were very basic but still clean & had everything we needed for our stay, they don't have TVs but that didn't bother us at all. If I was to be critical about anything it would probably be the sound upstairs from the rooms, you can hear literally everything from the corridors to the rooms further down the hall.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boot & will definitely return again in the future.

Great food and fantastic welcome from a top landlord. Boot is unbeatable and a stay at the Boot in has to be a compulsory part of a visit to this stunning part of the Lake District. Pictures are from the September 24 Eskdale Show and our walks along the valley and up Harter Fell). We will definitely be back!!
